The Indianapolis Star reports that Colts quarterback Peyton Manning underwent surgery Monday afternoon to remove an infected bursa sac from his left knee and that the rehab process could last six weeks. That means Manning’s status for the Colts’ regular-season opener on Sept. 7 against Chicago could, we stress could, be in doubt....

Peyton is second only to Brett for consecutive starts by a QB isn't he? I don't see him missing a start unless he becomes re-infected. He is a pocket passer and only needs to move within the pocket, so he'd have to be pretty hurting not to play.

I don't see him missing a game either.
Plus, if we beat the Colts, I want to do it with Peyton behind center

If we beat the Colts and they don't have Peyton, it will in no way cheapen the win for me.

anyone hear that noise in the distance.. oh yeah its the sound of Jared Allen chomping at the bit for that game. A not fully fit QB would suit him to a tee... and sure he'd like to give Peyton a warm welcome to the Metrodome turf.
Exactly you can only win the games you play and wouldn't be cheapened if Manning wasn't there. The last time I looked we were playing the Indianapolis Colts and not Peyton Manning+ supporting cast.I don't care who is under center.

I am actually rooting for him to break Farve's consecutive start record. Actually I would like to see him break all of them just so they don't have to mention Farve's name any more

look at it from management.. they can loose his record starts.. but have him for 95% of the season healthy.. or keep his record starts and chance him injuring, or re-infecting it.No way in hell Peyton misses the opener this year.
