yeah i heard that too... but i dont know if it is true
I think you guys are referring to comments of this nature that were in alot of articles as the deal unfolded/happened.

One league source told SI.com on Wednesday that Allen's two strikes in the program get wiped off the books if he stays incident free through September, at which time his most recent DUI will be two years old. He would then be out from under the threat of a year-long league suspension if he incurred another DUI after September, the source said. But that scenario could not be confirmed by an NFL spokesman Wednesday, leaving it uncertain whether Allen is a high risk for a career-interrupting suspension.

No problem my friend.

I still haven't seen anything out of the commisioners office that validates that though.

That's a good read.
Being third in the NFC to Dallas and the Giants before the season starts sounds pretty accurate to me.

Re: Peter King: Early Power Rankings

As much as I like hearing good things about the Vikes, I thought I should put this in perspective: King's rankings from last summer.

Here are some highlights:

-Of his top 12 teams, 7 did not make the playoffs.
-This on Atlanta, who he had at 20 (1 spot ahead of the Giants):
Atlanta: A retooling year, but they've got the right guy to retool. Bobby Petrino is a really good coach, a tough and smart football guy who I believe won't let the Michael Vick circus overwhelm his team.
-His bottom four teams were Tampa Bay, Arizona, Minnesota, and Cleveland.
Their records were 9-7, 8-8, 8-8, and 10-6, respectively, with [s]two[/s] one of the teams making the playoffs.

In other words, the whole thing is obviously a bunch of bad guesses.
I'd be willing to bet that this time next year his rankings will look a lot more like the standings from 2007 than from 2008.
When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Oops. Only one of those teams (Tampa Bay) made the playoffs.

Ahh... you are correct sir.
Whoops.

I think I got the records right though.
Hopefully.

And the point still stands!

A variety of talkers for today…

*In this week’s Monday Morning Quarterback, Peter King unveiled his post-draft power rankings and placed the Vikings as the seventh-best team in the NFL. That’s one spot ahead of our Wisconsin rivals.

On paper, I suppose the rankings make some sense…it’s reasonable to expect that the Vikes will edge out the Packers in the NFC North next season, simply based on the offseason wheelings and dealings of the two squads.

Add Sports Illustrated's Peter King to the list of those who are predicting big things for the Vikings this season....

No more sneakin' around under the radar. This team will be a tough blue collar crack you in the mouth unit, and I can't wait til the season starts.
