Pete Carroll interested in Falcons job?

    Why would he do this?

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3188045

He's the King of Southern Cali. He'll never get fired. He has five-star recruits lining up to play for him. The weather is good and his pay isn't so bad either.

He's already done the NFL thing and it didn't work out so well. Just don't understand why he'd want to go there again.

    I don't think he will.

    Ego my friend.

He already has tried a couple of times with limited success.

He will be coming into a position that is dire to say the least with a owner that wants to do anything to turn it around.

If he succeeds he will be the hero, if he fails, well it can always be attributed to the environment/team he tried to change.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

He'd be stupid to leave, USC is Southern California's NFL team.

IMO... would be a silly move indeed... however silly happens everyday.

I would bet on him not leaving.

He shouldn't take it, he's a king in Southern Cal, and could probably literally get away with murder.
Whoever does take over that job, isn't in as bad a spot as most would like to believe
An emerging #1 Receiver in Roddy White, a getting there receiver in Michael Jenkins, an elite, when healthy, TE in Crumpler. Dunn, Norwood.
All they need is a real QB, and Matt Ryan can be that real QB that'll turn them into a winner, in 09

I thought the question was "Why Would He Does This" and not is he stupid to do it.

Of course he is stupid if he does.

He will not take this job. He does this every year.

Trade the chance of winning national championships every year for boat loads of money near Los Angeles to move to Atlanta to lead a rebuilding franchise where he likely would not succeed? I bet he's ready to sign.

Re: Pete Carroll interested in Falcons job?

This depends on many, many things.
Certainly Pete Carroll has a great job currently...this job, because it is in the NFL with an awesome owner, is also a great job.
Carroll will undoubtedly weigh all options...however, the lure of the NFL is not to be overlooked; regardless of his situation at USC.
Don't forget, he created the situation at USC, it was not handed to him by any stretch.
He brought them back to the pinnacle of success.
Pete Carroll is not Dave Wannstedt, or Bobby Petrino, or Nick Saban.
Personally, I think he's grown mucho the last few years and may be much more equipped to succeed.

Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

As a matter of fact, I do know
