Personnel, philosophy has NFC North looking to run

They are the tortoise to the league's hare, the tractor to a fleet of jets. While the rest of the NFL prepares for another pass-happy season, the traditionalists over in the NFC North are focused more than ever on running the ball...

Thanks for the read my friend.

Minnesota's Brad Childress is also a disciple of the running game. He spent eight seasons on Barry Alvarez's staff at the University of Wisconsin, and Childress has incorporated Alvarez's thoughts on power football into one of the few run-first versions of the West Coast offense.
Consider it irony, however, this is the exact point I was trying (albeit a bit lame) in the "Favre a Good Fit" thread.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

if its on ESPN it must be true.
True so far, we have been a power running team, but with a good qb under center, I would expect a much more mixed offense, and I will leave it at that.

    I agree totally.

When AD fell to us last year we instantly became a better running team and we needed to adjust our plays to take advantage of that, plus the fact we had no ability to pass when we wanted to.If, on the other hand calvin johnson had slipped to #7 and we had selected him instead, My guess is we would have then focused more on the passing game than the running game. And if we get a QB and WR that can mesh to complete more intermediate and deep passes and if the line allows that to happen, we will certainly throw more.
