CHARLOTTE – We all know Julius Peppers was a superstar in his first five seasons with the Carolina Panthers. And we all saw how his production dipped in 2007....

Re: Peppers wants Freeny money
Thanks for the read my friend.
I suppose we will get flooded by the "Go get him crowd" that are made up of the casual sports fan that only wants big name players that they recognize on the team but to me I would have to think twice about this one.
Sure he is a big name and has been productive (double digit sacks) in 4 of his six years and this year is the first year he didn't complete the full season (except his rookie season) and appears to be just what the doctor ordered.
I guess a Bryz could work his magic so that he could get Freeny money and the team could roll the dice and see if he finishes/produces like he and Freeny did this year.
Lets hope the staff is smart when they come to signing guys like this without breaking the bank and can't get a WR.

Julius Peppers won't get signed until this next season is over. It's his contract year and he better get back to double digit sacks before he thinks he's gonna get Freeny money.

Re: Peppers wants Freeny money
If he wanted big money, maybe he should've stepped up last year and earned it, 2.5 sacks doesn't cut it, we can get that from our DE's and then some.
Yes he's a great talent, but everything declined last year, maybe it's a one year thing, but why risk spending a ton of money on someone like that? You can't be let down if you don't expect the world

This guy is a beast, flat out. Hes better then Freeny IMHO.I have never seen a DE take over a game like this guy can.Hes simply top 3 in DEs around the league. He had an off year but so did the whole Panthers team as a whole.A new change of scenery might turn this guys motor back to full speed.

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

Look, I like him as well and think he is probably worth it, but damn that is alot of money.

Re: Peppers wants Freeny money
Yes, I'd make him the highest paid defensive player. Easily, no problem.
The only thing holding our defense back is a consistent pass rush. Peppers more than fixes this. Think about it... Peppers next to KWill. That's insane!!! We'd easily have the best defense in our division... probably best in the NFC.

Re: Peppers wants Freeny money
Peppers hasn't shown the fire all year to play.. he wanted to be healthy going into this offseason, cash in and start to play like Shaun Alexander has for the SeaHawks.. coast. Huge mistake in my opinion to ink him to a huge long term deal, "No Deal".

I just don't see what people are on about here. As good as Peppers is... this is still a team game. He can't do it all by himself. Playing next to KWill would bring him back to life! The language and concepts contained herein are
