    Patriots Release Joseph Addai

New England Patriots release running back Joseph Addai - ESPN Boston

Well this is certainly surprising. I was thinking that Addai was going to be a huge part of the Pats' running game but now that he's released it looks like Danny Woodhead is going to be getting a lot of their carries.

My question is due to AP's injury and with Gerhart a decent backup but unproven in a starting role, should we take a chance on Addai and sign him to a one-year, incentive laden deal? I would think it'd be a low-risk, mild-reward at the very least and could allow AP more time to come back as close to 100% as he can get with his injury recovery.

    Thoughts?

veteran running back was struggling during his conditioning test and simply "quit." He was not long in New England after that.
Pats motto must be something along the lines of "we might be cheaters but not quitters"
