Patriots and Bucs to play in London in 2009
http://www.profootballtalk.com/2008/12/01/pats-and-bucs-will-play-in-london/
The New England Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will play a regular-season game at London’s Wembley Stadium on October 25, 2009, the NFL announced on Monday.
The Bucs will be the home team, which means that the cannons at Raymond James Stadium will be firing for only seven regular-season games in 2009.
(The fact that Tampa is hosting the Super Bowl this year might make the pill go down a bit more easily.)
It will mark the second straight sacrifice of a home game by an NFC South team...Zeus wrote:
When are you going to realize that picking out the 20 bad throws this year and ignoring the 300 good ones does not make your point?

Re: Patriots and Bus to play in London in 2009
Interesting note in the comments section:
Bucs are 6-0 at home and 3-3 on the road. I wonder if this might have an impact for the NFC SOUTH.Zeus wrote:

Financially speaking aren't the teams better off playing at Wembly anyways?
Pretty big crowds show up there and it would be hard to believe that the NFL teams aren't getting their piece of the pie.

So much for the rumoured NFCN/AFCN clash

Well as it is a home for the Bucs then I assume they'll get a large portion of the pie. Accounting for transport, accommodation costs etc etc then even with the bigger crowds then I reckon they make about the same as 'normal' home game.Time spent annoying a Packer fan is never time wasted...

Thanks for clarifying everyone.
I had to enter the thread, out of curiosity, just to see who the "Bus" was.
