    They'd better figure something out.
Can't use the franchise tag on him and Randy at the same time.

Want to watch a team self destruct because they have to many aging Vets and no CAP space to sign thier second contract rookies?

My bet is they will do anything they can to make one more push for the SB next year with this crew (at least the ones they can keep) but will suffer injury problems (no depth) and will struggle all next year because of it.
I saw Dukes interview him on NFLN this morning.
They said that the Pats weren't able to put the tag on him.
I don't think he will be back.
I think that he will go where the money is.
At least that is what it seemed like.
He didn't say he wanted to leave.
He didn't sound like he had any bad feelings for the Pats.
He did sound like he wanted to cash in.
I am afraid he might think they are going to offer him more than what they can.
He also made it sound like he wanted to see what he is worth in the open market.
    Interesting stuff to come!
Thanks SIA. Wish I could have seen that one.
    Wildwoman was watching Ole Yeller.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

The sentiment on most of the interviews that I saw was that "so in so" was getting paid.
I think it becomes an ego thing.

Freeney got some ridiculous amount from the Colts on a pick up option, something like 30 Million if I heard right. Osi said it would be silly for
Strahan to retire after the Mad Money that was thrown around at DEs.

Does Asante see himself needing to be the highest paid player at his position?
Seems like the Pats don't like to do that, see the list in one of the previous posts and add Adam V to that list also.
    We will see!

My guess is he's leavin NE.
They do owe him the contract but will pay for Randy's instead.
He will be a free agent in the market and some lucky team will get him at a HUGE price.
My guess is he will go to......Miami? Watch Parcells make a key move to get em from the Pats!
    Now that would be interesting?

Bill Parcels would love to kidney punch the PATS, he wasn't able to do that with the Jets.
Maybe he will with the Phins.
Never really thought about that being motivation for taking that job.
    Maybe?
