HONOLULU - Asante Samuel said "it's gonna take a lot" to keep him a Patriot.
But the 27-year-old unrestricted free agent cornerback, who has spent his five-year career in New England, added that on a scale of 1 to 10, he'd probably rate his chances of coming back a 10.....

"If at first you don't succeed, parachuting is not for you"

Re: Patriots' Samuel wants to stay
I wouldn't mind having Samuels here, he'd be a very nice addition, but we'd have to cough up quite a bit of $dough$...if we get the chance i think we should sign him, but only if we can offord to, we need to put our bigger positional needs first...but i think he will stay in NE.

They'd better figure something out.
Can't use the franchise tag on him and Randy at the same time.
Want to watch a team self destruct because they have to many aging Vets and no CAP space to sign thier second contract rookies?
My bet is they will do anything they can to make one more push for the SB next year with this crew (at least the ones they can keep) but will suffer injury problems (no depth) and will struggle all next year because of it.Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Thats too bad! I really wanted to see him here next year but I doubt it is going to happen now.

Yeah...there is no way Samual is back. They always let these guys go. Ty Law, Lawyer Milloy. Unless they are becoming deperate for a SB.

They said that the Pats weren't able to put the tag on him.
I don't think he will be back.
I think that he will go where the money is.
At least that is what it seemed like.
He didn't say he wanted to leave.
He didn't sound like he had any bad feelings for the Pats.
He did sound like he wanted to cash in.
I am afraid he might think they are going to offer him more than what they can.
He also made it sound like he wanted to see what he is worth in the open market.
Interesting stuff to come!
