The Patriots sign 3 wide receivers and we sign one.
I think they have gone a little crazy.
They have 9 receivers on their roster.
I know they will cut some but it seems they bringing in a bunch of backup receivers for to much money.
I am glad we aren't doing this.
They are trying to BUY another championship!
I hope that the same thing happens to them that always happens to The Danny in Washington...that those big purchases don't pan out!
They're really just addressing a glaring need.
Did you see their WRs in the playoffs?
Reche Caldwell looked worse than Troy Williamson.
Call it buying talent, but in reality theyre just addressing an area of desperate need.
I was referring to the Adalius Thomas and other signings...as a direct contrast to their professed "build through the draft" strategy that they always swore by.

True, but if recall a couple years ago they signed Rosevelt Colvin, who was the Adalius Thomas of that year's free agency.
Most people forget that they signed him to a big contract because he's been injured so much. I think they just do what it takes to win, and if they see a player they like (which isnt that often), they go after them.

    Chuch.

    Who cares?
I might if I gave a crap about either one.

Well, in that case....I hope that Adalius Thomas becomes the next Roosevelt Colvin!

Re: Patriots agree to five-year deal with Washington

It seems to me that during the beginning of their run they put together a very strong coaching staff that could get the most out of their talent so they were able to let top players like Lawyer Milloy and Ty Law go and replace them with an up and coming player or a converted Wide receiver, but in the past few years their cookie jar of coaches has been depleted, so they are trying to compensate for that by bringing in players that can perform without as much hands on training.

They came very close last year to being in the Super Bowl again and that window of opportunity will not be open forever so a quick infusion of talent could very well lead them back to the Lombardi Trophy again while trying to get their players through the draft would possibly make them take a step backwards.

I must say, I would've rather signed Washington to a 5 year contract then Bobby Wade. But anyways, good signings so far by the Pats. Some call it excessive, but you can never have enough good WR's.
Because I'm a Vikings fan, they are that much sexier.
