Pass Rush is NFL's Newest Trend

Giants' Pass Rush is NFL's Newest Trend

Rick Gosselin of the Dallas Morning News wrote an interesting column about NFL teams following the Giants formula of adding pass rushers.

During this current free agency period, teams are adding defensive linemen to their rosters.....

Ugh...

It's never been any secret how important a great pass rush is.
The Giants didn't discover the secret to success this year.

They simply did do a great job of finding the right players to get after the quarterback.
Something the Vikes have been trying to find for a while now.
I love lamp.

Pass rushing a new trend?... When I first started watching football we were the Purple People Eaters, the Rams were the Fearsome Foursome, Dallas had the Doomsday, and Pittsburg was the Steel Curtain. They all crushed opposing QB's, I guess just like fashion from the 60's and 70's things just keep coming around. They just appear new to the kiddies.

Its a copy cat league.

Teams will be looking to add guys in the middle that can get to the QB as well as edge rushers.
Teams that have OL that can't stop the rush up the middle and stop the edge rushers will try to add OL help.

Nothing new, however, a bigger emphasis will be put on those types of guys in this draft.
Alot of DT, DE, OT and hybrid OLB/DE will go in the first and second rounds.

Heck for that matter, 2 DT, 2 DE, 1 LB comprise the top 10 players on most value boards with a DE possibly going first off the board.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

It's been a long time since that happened; or anything close to it...
