Panthers Smith, Morgan & Goings definetely out of Vikings game

    PANTHERS INJURIES

8:08 pm | Panthers' Smith, Morgan out vs. Vikings

MINNEAPOLIS - Carolina Panthers All-Pro receiver Steve Smith did not travel with the team Saturday and will miss today's game against the Minnesota Vikings.

Linebacker Dan Morgan (concussion) and running back Nick Goings (thigh) also did not make the trip, team officials said.

Smith missed last week's season opener with a right hamstring injury and did not practice at all last week. Either Drew Carter or Keary Colbert will start in his place. Adam Seward is expected to start in Morgan's place. With Goings out, Eric Shelton, who was inactive last week, will be the third running back.

Center Justin Hartwing (groin) did make the trip, but he remains questionable. The team likely won't make a decision on his status until shortly before the 1 p.m. game time.

I never wish injury on anyone.. But since it happened to happen around the time we play im happy!! Should help us out alot.. However I hope we DESTROY them.. So they can't really blame it all on injuries..

I agree with ya bud.. However, if we beat them, especially by a small number, we will be hearing that the only reason why we beat them, is because they have all of their star players out of the game..

I want to decimate them so there will be no excuses if we win.. I think with Tomlin as our DC, we have a great shot at winning this game.. He has tons of experience against Carolina from his days in Tampa.. Hopefull we pound on them early, and they are out of the game..

So who cares what THEY say -- a win is a win and I'll take it by 1 point or 100 points!

I have to agree with you Cojo, a win is a win, period..

But don't be suprised by any meens if their back-up players come to play and play hard......I think even if they had all their starters in place, we would give them one hell of a fight and even still then we could pull out a win...

Should still be a hell of a game, no matter how one looks at it....

Sweet. I think we would have won even if they had played, but this should make the road a little easier.

Sometimes it doesn't matter who you play as much as it does when you play them.
