Absolutely! If the NFL patterned a three-strikes code of conduct program after its substance abuse policy, it would be revolutionary, welcome and a perfect way to combat behavior that is truly embarrassing and unruly.
NFL players are role models whether they want to be or not.

Come one, you have to admit that if the league instituted something along the lines of a "Three convictions and you're out" rule, there would be a major shake up in the ethics of the NFL.
Of course, it would never get past the NFLPA, but I can dream.Zeus wrote:

To make any code-of-conduct program policy in the NFL will require it to be written into the CBA.
And there's NO WAY the players would agree to something like this w/out getting concessions from the owners on money, which is something the owners won't do, etc. etc. etc.

Our prisons are overcrowded as it is.
If pro sports leagues had a 3 strikes and you're out rule thre wouldn't be any teams left.

Yellow Card given for a piss-poor analogy.
As politicians are able to pass legislation with minimal input from their constituency, I don't see how that's relevant to something which must be agreed upon by two parties in a contract negotiation.
