GREEN BAY, Wis. - It isn't exactly a contract holdout, but Green Bay Packers running back Ryan Grant sat out Tuesday morning's mandatory minicamp practice as he and the team continue to work on a new dea...l.

so he has been in Green Bay for the team's offseason workout program, attended meetings and been present for practices —
Grant acknowledged that he was missing important practice time by sitting out, but said being present in meetings and at least observing practices was better than not being there at all
What are these meetings and practices they speak of?
I thought OTA's were just designed to be for getting in shape.
    : ;D :P

JK. Seriously though, is there a team in the NFC North that isn't having a player hold out/worry about a contract?
    The Lions perhaps.

This isn't the voluntary OTA's Marr. I believe this is the mandatory minicamps.

You forget about Roy Williams...who may just be the only player on the Lions who is deserving of a new contract.

But sitting out practice didn't prevent Grant from getting slightly banged-up, as a teammate accidentally tipped a ball into his face during an informal drill.

Re: Packers RB Ryan Grant sits out minicamp

Grant will turn out to be a one-year-wonder, only reason he did what he did last year is because of Brett Farve.

Rodgers will not get the same treatment, thus Grant will see the safety in the box more.
Grant will be hard pressed to see 1000 yards.

I hope the Pack is smart enough to have a incentive heavy contract.

This "come to camp, but not practice" crap is just stupid.
Players must be doing it so they don't get fined.
Teams should have a special area on the practice field called "Jacking off bench" or "Twiddling Thumbs up my Butt"
