Re:Are the Packers Now the Favorite in the NFC North?
War, pure war. F the Packers, especially McCarthy. The next time I see a story about how "special" the Packers and their fans are, I just might puke. Yes, I have respect for their legacy (40 years ago), their fans (gotta admit, pretty solid), and, Lamblow Field...but, I remain defiant.
So, the Vikes, with 12 Pro-Bowlers, better show me some fucking heart...and, I, as a 40+ year fan, want a Packer sweep. Buck up boys, and, give us what we deserve.
Oh, sorry, I don't care about who is the favorite now...BRING IT!
Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent

I saw a interview with Woodson who basically, in media talk, trashed his D and said they can't expect the Off. to win their games. Well they are going to have to because the D surely isn't.It was actually well written for a Bleacher Report column. Unfortunately it was obvious that he didn't do his due research before writing it. He knows about as much about Minnesota football as I do about, well, Packer football.
His assumption is that Favre will be severly limited in his passing offense because Rice is out for 6 months and Taylor is gone. That assumption only works if there is nobody to replace them. We will see others flourish in their absence. An elite QB can help that happen.
He also fails to address Green Bay's defensive issues. Sure, their defense stepped up a little in the playoffs, but they are looking like their old selves again so far this year.
I think it will be a tight race for the NFC North, at least at first. But I don't think Green Bay are the favorites at all.
BTW, of the 75 pts GB's D has given up 31 were in the first quarter when the starters played. So it really isn't the backups screwing up.

After looking again at our OL and seeing the recent developments with the QB position I now feel the Packers are in a much better position to win the NFCN

Wow. Three of them don't even have us going to the playoffs. One of them picked the Bears. LOLWe're bringing purple back.

All six of them?
I am not blinded. I think the Packers are good ... very good. But I don't think it is a stretch to pick us to win the division. I don't think it is a stretch to pick us in the Super Bowl or the Cowboys, Saints or even a dark horse like the Falcons.
I am shocked that not ONE of them is out on a limb.

I guess it helps me that their opinions hold about as much weight as the last floater I dumped off at the toilet bowl.
Sorry to be so crude, but these jokers bring out the worst in me. For the record, these predictions (gag) were posted well before the news about the Rosenfels trade...just so no one gets the idea that all these "experts" (spit) think the Packers are the ones to beat BECAUSE of the trade. I know...LOL, right?
Must be that whole "franchise QB" thing...

Re:Are the Packers Now the Favorite in the NFC North?
It doesn't matter what these "experts" think. At the end of the day, a regular season game hasn't even been played yet and they are making all of these silly predictions. The writers and analysts always change their minds as much as Brett Favre does. So who are we kidding? For all we know it could be the Bills shocking the world and making the playoffs. We don't know. That's why they play the game. To find out who is good and who is bad. You can't make predictions and get 100%. I'm sure once Aaron Rodgers gets beat up this year, they'll change their minds. I guarantee it. I'm glad they are underestimating the Vikings, that will probably mean good things for us. Being under the radar is a good thing and that puts added pressure on the Packers to perform. And wouldn't we all love to see them flop and make all of these so called "experts" eat crow? You betcha! SKOL!!!!!!

But do we have the same OL? Not yet and we don't know how they are going to work together. That QB is also older, slower and playing without the main RB that kept him clean last season.Purple Floyd wrote:

Yes, I believe the Packers will be better this year than last which is why we cannot make stupid personnel decisions and reduce the depth at QB this year and expect anything.
