General Manager Ted Thompson is taking a measured approach to obtaining a backup quarterback for the Green Bay Packers, rather than going for a quick-strike signing of a player he covets.....

Re: Packers not in a rush to sign backup QB
Ted Thompson knows what he is doing over there. I dont see them as bad as alot off as alot of people think they will. Although Favre give them 4 automatic 4 wins i would say they will miss 3 of those for sure.
I am THE #1 Sidney Rice #18 Fan ever! Don't Be surprised when this kid IS a superstar! He is humble, smart, tough, talented and has alot of character! Takes alot of pride in his work, team, fans and life. Watch out for this kid! I think he is awesome! Everytime he touches the ball its MAGIC!

Ted Thompson my ass. We all know the HC (McCarthy) will make the decision which QB comes it. (JK).
Couldn't resist.
Anyway, as I said a few weeks ago, Fitzpatrick for a 7th is a intriguing idea even though he doesn't have the reps/expierence of Sage.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

;D
Seriously, I think he is just pecking around a bit to see what is out there and at what cost, if someone accepts a deal on the "cheap" he will add them but not pressing until he sees how the draft plays out. My guess is that he has one of the 2nd round or 3rd set aside for another QB... if said QB is obtained in the draft then case closed, if not, he will add a vet after the draft. Dilfer just hit the market and another name under the radar is Leftwich.. steady as she goes again in the GB front office.
Boring as a fan but effective so far in the fall.

Re: Packers not in a rush to sign backup QB
we should pick up lorenzen!!!! :P
This guy has the physical frame to play the game effectively eh Marr?
Jared Lorenzen
6'4", 285 (thats being a little generous, the same way Pat Williams is listed at only 317)
Hey, he could start playing LDE for us.
He'd be the right size
