Hawk, and Hodge will no doubt help there team. It will take more then 2 draft picks to make that team a winner again.

They need a ton more! Also considering after favre leaves, he will leave the team with a qb who was criticized all throughout training camp last year!Hawk, and Hodge will no doubt help there team. It will take more then 2 draft picks to make that team a winner again.

That could go both ways. Hodge is not overrated. If he is in the right system, he will be a steal. As much as I hate the Packers, as long as Hodge isn't relied heavily upon in pass coverage, he will be a force with Hawk.I think Hodge is overrated. He had the best in the business Chad Greenway taking all the double teams.

Yes but those are two solid picks, both could be starting at the beginning of the season, and making an impact. Thats what you hope for from your picks. Hodge was an absolute steal, Hawk is considered one of the safest picks if not thee safest pick in the draft. Hawk Hodge and Barnett. Get used to Vike fans. This defense which was ranked 7th last year will rival the Bears D this year.Hawk, and Hodge will no doubt help there team. It will take more then 2 draft picks to make that team a winner again.
Ryan Picket is suppose be a better DT than Grady Jackson, he may be more similar in size to the center's of the NFL than Grady, but he is also suppose to play better, and in that consume more than 1 blocker.

Re: Packers linebackers
A good defense helps, but you need an offense to help you score points. The defense can't win all your games.

Agreed. The offense bothers me. If everyone stays healthy for the most part, the offense should be decent.A good defense helps, but you need an offense to help you score points. The defense can't win all your games.

Wait.. you talkin' about the Packers defense? The same defense that made Kyle Boller look like a Pro Bowler last year? This defense which was ranked 7th last year will rival the Bears D this year.
Don't get me wrong.. They DO make me nervous. Especially with their additions at the LB position. THAT'S scarey. I'm hoping it'll take more than 2 blue-chip picks to turn around their defense though.Vegans are eating the rainforests. =(

Re: Packers linebackers
I really do think the Packs D will be top 15, i cant say which spot for sure. Sure they made Boller look like a pro bowler, but then again so did we. There offense just doesnt have the tools to get the job done. They have made no upgrades, and its not as if it was impressive last year. The reciever core is well....pitiful. Ahman is on the decline, and Favre has to be nervous playing behind that line.

The addition of 3 FA's that were in ESPN's top 50 list (actually think they were all top 25) helps along with the addition of our drafted LB's, which is what this thread is about. We also added 2 players from ESPN's sleeper FA's. The defense has been improved at every place it seriously needed it. Pushed Carroll to nickel, where he will be his whole career more than likely. Filled our LB departures, along with our DT. We were ranked 7th last year, and did play poor against the Ravens, but this Defense is one you won't like seeing this year fellas.
Our offense isn't anything special, definately need some of the rookies to step up, and if one or two of them does, we will be a respectable offense. Regardless of what you say about Favre, having him back makes us a contender. If our RB's remain healthy this year, and Driver has another solid year, and one of the rookie OL and WR's fills a spot on the offense you will see a huge improvement over last year. Green Bay will turn heads this year.

Turn heads, maybe so people can look down into the cellar, but thats about all. Did having Favre make you a contender last year...sure didnt, he cost your more games than he won for you. Remember the Bears game, you can chalk up 10 points just off Favre turnovers, not to mention the ones the Pack could have had, had he not thrown it to them in the endzone. BTW, what has Picket done except dissapoint, will the linebackers be good, maybe eventually but its hard for rookie linebackers to play great immediatley, Trent Green said on ESPN that he feels its the hardest position to adapt to. Green Bay finishes 6-10, no better. Favre will have 20+ interceptions, he still doenst have any weapons. The addition of 3 FA's that were in ESPN's top 50 list (actually think they were all top 25) helps along with the addition of our drafted LB's, which is what this thread is about. My biggest prob with pack fans, they sign a one marquee player (Woodson) and get Hawk and their prepared to talk about the Super Bowl even after going 4-12, they may have lost a lot of close games, but thsoe are the games favre used to win, facts must be faced, facts done lie, Favre is gettin to old.
