The Packers are going to have a good cornerback tandem, in Woodson and Harris. Charles Woodson is an elite NFL cornerback when healthy, and Harris had a great season last year. And Nick Collins is an up and coming saftey.Oh well.. Adding a corner won't really help them enough to be a contender.. Glad they wasted all that money too
It dosen't suprise me that the Packers signed Woodson, because I knew they were going to get him or Arrington.
What shocks me, is that he got almost as much as money, as Steve Hutchinson. :shock:In the P.J.'s, my blend tape plays, bullets are strays

I think their D will be pretty good actually. Weren't they pretty decent last year?? I think they may need to really focus on offense in the draft, that's what is hurting their team the most. Well ok, it's just Favre really. It will be interesting to see how well they do, I think there is potential there. And NO I'm not a packer backer, I'm just being mature and stating it how it is.
Their D was decent last year because of their D cordinator and his great scheme, not because of the talent they have. Bates is now gone and I am not too sure of their new D coordinator. Obviously Woodson is better then what they had at CB last year, opposite Harris, however I think they will probably be a little worse this year on D, without Jim Bates and his schemes. Woodson was a good signing for them though. Maybe now all the Packers fans will shut up about how we overpay all our guys and that is bad, now that they clearly paid Woodson WAY WAY too much money. But I guess they had to spend that money on someone.

Re: Packers l Woodson agree to seven-year deal
That is way to much money for a old CB like Woodson.. The Cheese sure weren't using their heads on that move. He has slowed considerably, and gets beat on almost every play. No worries here Vikes fans, we will still beat them 2 games a year.

What? Bates is gone???? Didn't know that..but I agree with ML4S, Bate took that defense and made it one of the better. Packers just have got to be kidding me if they released him...

Wow....Some of you really think they made a good signing in Woodson?
When I heard/seen this deal go through I smiled.
Lets be honest, Woodson is so overated. He is eating up so much cap room for the them.
Plus I dont even think he has 2 good years left. As of now he is one of the most medicore backs in the leauge.
He is also selfish and could be a problem for their front office.
He is also 30 years old (Almost 31) and the way he has played of late, I doubt he has much left.
So congrats pack on another bonehead move!

They also gave Jim Bates their D-coordinator from last year his walking papers after they did not hire him as their head coach and their defensive ranking was as overrated as ours would look by the end of the season.I think their D will be pretty good actually.
