Packers to cut 4th rounder '06 draft?

Bob McGinn, of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers WR Cory Rodgers, who was a fourth-round pick in the 2006 NFL draft, may be released when the team makes its final cuts. Rodgers has struggled to catch the ball as a receiver and has also disappointed on punt returns. The Packers haven't released a player taken in the fourth round or higher in the same offseason he was drafted in 18 years. Rodgers will need to drastically improve or he could find himself with that dreadful distinction.

If he sucks he sucks.
Look at the Lions, they're talking about cutting the 2nd OVERALL pick from just 3 years ago.
The fact of the matter is, there comes a point when your draft status can't make up for your inadequacies as a player.

Well unless things change we are prob going to be cutting Fox who was a 3rd rounder from last year.. though just watch him make it as a safety or find himself on IR for tendinitis

edit... they also drafted so many people how could they keep all of them?

Fred Gibson, who was a reciever for the Steelers was a 4th round pick last year and he got released in his rookie year. So it's not completley rare, but not good scouting. Whoever said draft him is getting fired

The Pack finally cut their heralded 3rd round punter from 2004 Sanders, he should have been cut the 1st year and he was the worst punter in the NFL but they tried to save face for taking a punter that high and kept him this long.
