Favred fucked em good with this one, waiting till after free agency opened to decide to retire.
Which pretty much proves that he was pissed about the packers not going after Randy Moss.
Otherwise you think he would of let them know before the free agency opener so they could of tried to make arrangments.
They can still go after Trent Green, Chris Weinke, Craig Nall, or Daunte Culpepper ;D

??? Craig Nall is already a backup QB there now. They re-signed him last year.
One year deal I guess, he's currently a UFA according to the NFL Free Agent tracker

Just watched an interview with the coach and owner of the Pack....they stated that this wasn't a suprise at all....They have been in very close contact with Brett since the end of their season, and it has a been a main topic amongst them all that Brett was heavily weighing the fact of retirement.....Basicaly, the Coach and management new this was coming for like the last 4 weeks.....No suprise for them at all...

To me, they would have been screwed more if Brett didn't talk to anyone, then dumpep it on them just before the draft or training camp....then that would have hurt them....

Yeah this didn't catch the Packers off guard, they did have their website primed with the "Thanks Brett Favre" page which they accidently fired up earlier this week.

I wonder if they didn't leak that to hurry the process along. If they knew for a month he was retiring they probably figured he had dragged his feet long enough.

A lot less than that. They signed him last December last year when Favre got injured.
