Re: P. Buchanon Released by Texans

I don;t think anyone is thinking he'll be a starting corner, or even the third guy, I see him as a 4th corner, and a kick returner, with his speed and athleticism he will be a good kick returner, and take our #1 receiver out of that role.

He might be cheap insurance. But if the Texans released you maybe your not so good.

For me....it would depend who's roster spot he would take.
He could be a dime back....and obviously, the most attractive part of his game would be as a return specialist....

That being said, if it means a roster spot currently being held by Blue or Edwards...I would say no thanks!

I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

Re: P. Buchanon Released by Texans

I think in the right system with some good coaching he could get back to a dominate form.
He needs guy around him to be effective and Houston doesn't really have safeties or a Dline and Oakland didn't have much for a while either.

He is definitely better than Cedrick and Ronyell Whitacker.
This would be a good pick-up because he would help us on defense and also on Special teams (we do have Bethel Johnson though).
I think it would be a mistake to not go after him, especially considering that if anything happens to Winfield we are pretty much screwed at CB.
Also I think he could take over for Smoot when he gets the system down.
The guy has got skills but needs to play on a decent defense with a decent coach.
He'll have that here with Tomlin.
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!

I would love to see him on our team. Especially as
KR/PR and yes he would problem be the Nickle or Dime DB.
Better than Whitacker IMO Griffith? Maybe. But he alsp played for 2 Horrible Defenses. In Oakland and Especially the Texans.
The Texans are actually the one team I follow outside of the Vikings. Mostly becaus ei have family down there and Loved the Housin Oilers. So he is a solid DB would not start but could come in as a solid backup and Specia; teams player

I want to see what Griffin has before we start writing him off as worse than a Texans/Raiders castoff.

I agree....I think Griffin is going to be stud within a few years. He's got a coach (Tomlin) who used to be a DB's coach to help bring him along, and with the exception of few penalties this year IMO he has looked pretty good. But, I also think that if the Vikes don't have to release anybody worthwhile to get Buchanon in for a look, they should go for it.

I think Griffin could be good but I'm not as high on him as other people seem to be.
Either way the fact that we have a some-what promising rookie doesn't mean we don't try and go after someone who could be better.

Make all you want of the fact that he is a Raider/Texan castoff.
A guy could easily suck with one team and excell with another.
The Texans saw enough in him to trade a 2nd and 3rd rounder but he just hasn't worked out for them.
It doesn't mean he can't play.
It could very easily mean that he just doesn't fit in Texas.
Different city, different teammates and different schemes can make all the difference.

Wow.. Can't believe he is getting dogged so much...

Imagine trying to cover a dude for more then 3 seconds.. It's hard.. They get NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO pressure in Houstan..

He is a very solid corner.. Better then Smoot for sure
