P. Buchanon Released by Texans
"Texans Cut Former First-Rounder Buchanon"

I haven't really seen him play, but he did have some good kick returns in yesterday's game against the cowgirls. Anybody have any info on him, and think he might be a valuable pick up for the Vikes?"I play for the love of the game; I play because there is no greater feeling than hearing 80,000 fans screaming when you smack somebody!"

Yes I think he will be a valuable pick-up for the Vikes.
I don't know how much it will help to have him this seaosn because he has to get used to our scheme but he could have an impact on nickel and dime situations with potential to pay off big on special teams and down the road.
If this is true I really want us to go after him.
When it s all said and done, you ll have to admit we re number 1!

Yeah....I mean he was a former first round pick he has to have SOME Talent. He returned 4 out of 11 interceptions for touchdowns when he was with Oakland! I agree that he would be worth a shot. He should come at decent price since he hasn't seen the field a whole lot lately.Yes I think he will be a valuable pick-up for the Vikes.

Re: P. Buchanon Released by Texans
I say we pick him up for sure.
He's one of the best athletes in the NFL, he hasn't really shown what he can do, but he certainly is a talented CB and return man.
I guarantee if we pick him up he'll be returning kicks, and a nickel or dime package back.

I know most of us want a replacement for smoot, but do you think it'll be necessary with the up-and-comers do relatively well for rookies?? I'm not concerned. I think he may lose his spot to one of the new guys next year.

Re: P. Buchanon Released by Texans
No thanks, this guy has a known tendancy to just go after INT's in critical situations, not to mention he has horrible instincts and gets very late jumps on the ball which then results in the receiver making the catch and most likely getting a huge gain. Though with Tomlin being originally a DB coach, he may be able to coach him into the right direction but, I doubt it.
I think that if we don't go after either Brian Kelly (Bucs) or Nate Clements (Bills) then we will probably just do with what we have. I really really think putting Devonte on IR was a horrible move, he was only going to be out 4-6 weeks...

Re: P. Buchanon Released by Texans
Why is everyone worried about our CB situation?
We have Winfield, Smoot, Griffin and Whitaker.
Buchanon couldn't make it on 2 of the worst teams in the NFL.
I m like a Ja Rule poster, cause I'm off the wall.

Well mainly cause most of the people here see Smoot as a liability, while in my opinion that is wrong and right in the sense that Smoot is a cover guy but is a lousy tackler, in this scheme you need to be a complete CB. So everyone is all livid about the Bills game, rightfully so but that really wasn't all Smoot's fault, the price TD, sure Smoot had him but there were 2-3 other Viking players just standing there and did nothing and after he broke loose they gave a piss poor pursuit. Why is everyone worried about our CB situation?
