One hit and dominoes fell
One hit & dominoes fell
We've heard the stories, but this is an interesting description of the timeline and all the things that were influenced and affected by the hit on one QB by a relatively unknown safety.
One play last season affected more teams and more players than probably any play in NFL history.
It was an unintentional and unfortunate hit halfway through the first quarter of the first game by Kansas City's strong safety Bernard Pollard that tore up Tom Brady's knee and set off a chain reaction that resulted in the Bears, Broncos and Chiefs having new quarterbacks in 2009, baby-faced 32-year Pats offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels getting the Broncos head coaching job, hurt feelings in the locker rooms of the Redskins, Browns, Bucs and Jets and the NFL writing a new rule outlawing what Pollard did.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Yes, a very good case for it...although some would say Brady's injury wasn't an incidental occurrence. But I like your point.Any man who afflicts the human race with ideas must be prepared to see them misunderstood. - H.L. Mencken
