Re: Official NLF Cuts (9/5/09 @ 3PM EST )...UPDATED
Does anyone think that Jackson or Sage Could still be dealt or cut so they can bring in Brohm from the Packers?
I could see it happen,
Wasn't Chilly high on Brohm before the draft that year?
I am not sure but, I could see it happen if they think that Brohm has more upside than Booty or Tjack.
Four score and seven years ago, Brad Childress has brought upon this team, a west coast offense, conceived in San Francisco, and Dedicated to be a Kick jiggly butt offence. We are now engaged in an NFL season, testing weather that offense can get going or that our defense can long endure.

I am content with the decision to cut Booty and McCauley. Paymah outplayed McCauley and showed some flashes. Booty sadly hasn't developed enough over the last two years. I would take Thigpen over Booty in a heartbeat and that pretty much sums it up.
I am very happy Onatulo made the squad but am surprised Erin Henderson beat Herron out. Don't get me wrong I love the Henderson brothers, but I thought Herron was arund the ball mroe often than Henderson this preseason.
I hope Colt Anderson and Broughton (FB/TE) makes the practice squad. As Mike Mayock put it, Broughton is a "thumper" and I think will benefit our run oriented offense next year. I wouldn't be suprised to see us get a QB on the practice squad. Maybe Brohm if he clears waivers.
The team made some tough decisions, but they are tough because we are a good football team.
Albert Young over Ian Johnson
- Yes, Johnson seemed to run better than Young, but Young was a MUCH better blitz pick-up guy.
Re:
Erin Henderson over David Herron
- Herron is a MLB.
Henderson is an OLB.
It was Brinkley who beat out Herron.
=Z=
Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

Re: Official NLF Cuts (9/5/09 @ 3PM EST )...UPDATED
The chances are that we are going to loose
QB John David Booty
and
RB Ian Johnson
to other teams if we waive them.
Doesn't seem like the coaches realise that.
I wanted to keep JD Booty, but he is the worst QB we have on the team so I'm not so mad about that.
However, I'm pissed that they let Ian Johnson go. He is better than Albert Young in every aspect of the running game. Ian will average at least over one yard per carry than Albert Young.
At least we keept Darius Reynaud. I would have been really pissed if they let him go.

I think the reason Herron played so well in Fridays Cowboy game was he knew he was gone and that Brinkley had out played him in preseason and he was trying out for other teams.
Herron has been a disappointment since we signed him as a special teams player and the Vikes way over paid for him and I am not sorry to see him go.
If he played every game like he did Friday he would still be on the team, but where was that intensity game in and
game out?
I haven't seen it!What we've got here is failure to communicate.

Young was a better blocker from what I saw.
They both have talent and it was a tough decision but they had to choose.
You can only keep 53.
If you want that extra WR one of the RBs get cut. Who was more valuable?
Johnson or Reynaud?
Unfortunately I would have to go with Reynaud because of his return skills.
I hope (but I doubt) Johnson clears waivers and we are able to keep him on the PS.
Long shot but I hope so.
I like what the kid can do and his heart.
He's a football player and he will do well in the NFL.
As I throw up a little in my mouth he would be a great fit in GB.
He could probably beat out Grant for a starting spot there.
That is how deep the Vikings are at RB.

Re: Official NLF Cuts (9/5/09 @ 3PM EST )...UPDATED
I was a fan of McCauley, but his play wasn't going anywhere.
After the game against Dallas Paymah earned a roster spot both by his CB play but also by his ST play.
Glad to see the Vikes kept him.
I had hopes for Booty, but he really needed to step up.
He knew he was on the bubble and just couldn't close the deal.
He wasn't helped by some questionable WR play, but I've never made that a true excuse unless the ball hits them in the hands or #'s, which Booty's passed didn't.
I wanted Tahi to go, but he did have a good showing against the Texans.
But Broughton IMO is the overall threat.
He blows up tacklers.
My hope is Tahi plays well and deserves his roster spot.
