I know this is off topic a smidge, But $20,000 for this is kinda way out there, Tommy Harris got $7,000 for punching another player?? Are sports leaders aware of our countries terrible economy? It's almost an insult to the working man the way they throw around money on silly fines, Violence towards someone should be one of the only reasons to give some fine that would equal a new car or a couple years worth of food for regular folk.
    Repeat offender!

I realize this isn't his first offense, But The NFL has recently fined Cutler for arguing that an interference flag should of been thrown=$20,000 for that, And Harris got $7,000 for a violent act? It seems like the league is all over the place when it comes to what is deserving of what amount, Does this fall under the "No bribes or intended bribes" rule? or the "We don't like Ochocinco messing around rule?" I'm sure this is unprecedented and wondering why the Commish just doesn't make up a list of whats what, then have sub categories. What and where is the fine line between goofing and fine?
Even if the Vikings lose, I can still find happiness in Bears, and Packer losses.

In the end, its still just a game played for the fans entertainment.
That entertainment drives revenues that allow the owners to make money.
People tune in to watch him play and to see what he is gonna do next.

Would I want him on our team?
Probably not, but he is gol 'darnit entertaining to watch.

I am a fan of Football, not antics.
Go ahead and dance or hand the ball to the ref after you score that is and earned dance if you want to do it.

As far as the antics go, this isn't professional wrestling.

Everyone can have their own opinion on this.
    I am just expressing mine.

I don't care if he wants to do this and pay fines.
I just get tired of people making light of what he does.
"Oh, he was just trying to be funny."
Chris Rock doesn't have to try to be funny, he is funny.
If you have to try, you are not funny.
He pushes the envelope and most of the time it is pushing the envelope of stupidity not humor.
    JMHO!

Chad Johnson is the a publicity Whore!

I like watching him play football and perform on the field.

In the end, what did his attempt at "Humor" hurt?

You would have to believe that a huge contingent of fans would automatically think that the refs are willing to take bribes based on that incident.

I question some fans knowledge level at times, but I don't think they are that silly.
Only reason this is a big deal is cause the talking heads on ESPN spun it to be a big deal.
Its not that he's hurting anyone as much as he's disrespecting the league, officials and the rules.
Not that I think it should be the no fun league it doesn't have to be the asshat league either and old Ocho doesn't seem to be learning that by being fined.
If he really thinks he can continue to break rules and just pay his fine and do it again it might be time for him to sit for a week like other players in the league that have multiple fines for repeated infractions.
I hear ya, however, I don't think I would go as far as to lable it "Disrespect".
    Did it warrant a fine?
    Sure.
Could we have done without it?
    Maybe.
    Is it entertaining?
    Yes.
I know I laughed my ass off.

    Its his money.
If he likes to donate to charities and give me a laugh, more power to him.

Again, I probably wouldn't want him on my team, but the cat is entertaining, plays his ass off for his team, and is one talented SOB.
    Nothing more, nothing less.
Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v343/josdin00/Vikings/Marrdro_sig.jpg

Saw an interview with him.. He was like honestly bribe the ref with a dollar? Get real people.. Ruining the intergrity of the game? Really? A dollar?

Not quite like that but I agree.. Lighten up people.. He didn't hurt anyone.. Got fined for using a prop... Wow

Had he punched the ref and threw money on his body when eh was out cold I would be pissed

He held a dollar and walked up the ref.. Ref told him to back off and he did

Oh and what about Deangelo Hall getting into a fight with the coach

No fine there? Isn't that ruckus and repeat offender deserving of a fine?

    Goodell is a POS

    Ocho is the shit

If the Vikings had a sudden unexpected need to fill the roll of a #1 WR and Chad was available what would be your hold up in bringing him in?
I won't argue his talent and I do enjoy Jared Allens sense of humor as well as John Randles when he was playing.
