People tune in to watch him play and to see what he is gonna do next.

Would I want him on our team?
Probably not, but he is gol 'darnit entertaining to watch.

I am a fan of Football, not antics.
Go ahead and dance or hand the ball to the ref after you score that is and earned dance if you want to do it.

As far as the antics go, this isn't professional wrestling.

Everyone can have their own opinion on this.
    I am just expressing mine.

I don't care if he wants to do this and pay fines.
I just get tired of people making light of what he does.
"Oh, he was just trying to be funny."
Chris Rock doesn't have to try to be funny, he is funny.
If you have to try, you are not funny.
He pushes the envelope and most of the time it is pushing the envelope of stupidity not humor.
    JMHO!

Chad Johnson is the a publicity Whore!

I like watching him play football and perform on the field.

    His humor is prop related.
If he just said it as a joke to the ref and only a few people heard it and it passed as a joke
He might have got by with it.
He had the dollar to make a spectacle out of it.
    Really?

    He deserves it.

Does someone know........ the answer...... I think that the fines go to charity, the guys on NFLN and on Sirius were joking that Ocho is the biggest contributor to charity.

If this happened in a court room, he would immediately be in contempt.
If you did this in class at college, the professor would more than likely report it so they don't get in trouble and then you would end up in the dean's office.
Joke or not, it just opens up so many avenues of thought that are not necessary.

Joke or not, bribes are linked to scandal.
Joke or not, it is approaching crimes on a federal level.
As soon as I saw that video with the dollar in his hand, I immediately said he can't do that.
I even knew that he was joking in my mind.
I am totally not surprised about the outcome and the fine.
If during the middle of class a professor gave me back a paper with a bad grade and I asked a friend for a dollar and say "Hey Professor will this change my grade?".
I would get a big laugh and the prof would say "NO, but studying for once would".

There was no way anyone with a sense of humor would take Ocho seriously.
Even if he had a $100,000, it's in the middle of the game, 70,000 in the stands, several TV cameras and thousands of other cameras, thus a JOKE.
Ocho isn't upset about the fine, I'm sure he expected it.

Ocho also matched the $20K to give to charity.
    Great, try it.

But if one end up in the dean's office, one shouldn't be surprised.
Mainly because the thought/action is unethical.
One should know that they are playing with fire.
Even Johnson said in the after the game interview that he shouldn't have done it.

One can not tell how someone will interpret what is said.
Delivery of a joke is everything.
At the very least, Chad is not good at telling a joke(s).
He sticks his foot in his mouth so much it is difficult to watch.
He shouldn't be telling any jokes.

It is great that we want to see the humor in it, but there are somethings that are not socially acceptable to joke about.

How do you think that Refs took that gesture?
It was only a dollars so it must have been known that it was a joke, right.
If someone came at me with a dollar and basically said this is the value I place on your job, I would find that insulting on top of the fact that someone was trying to tell me I was doing a crappy job that day.
Who was this suppose to be funny to?
Only the fan and Chad Johnson?

It is well known that if you do anything to criticize the officiating, you will be fined by the NFL.
It happens every week that someone gets fined.
If they make comments about the officiating, they know they are putting themselves in the eye of the NFL.
The sad part about this incident is that Chad Johnson didn't see this in his mind before he did it.
I've been out of college for awhile and I never got a grade that I would pay to increase.
I imagined if it was BB doing it, it wouldn't be as funny, because everyone knows Ocho is a fool.
He's the Court Jester of the NFL kingdom.

Chad can't tell jokes like most people like because he insists his outlandish statements are true with a straight face.
    That's what is funny.
"There is no CB that can cover me 1 on 1 past or present"
Just like Michael Irvin I laughed.
He's a fool and I like it, as long as he isn't whining like he has in the past.

    Whining fools aren't funny.
    Delusional fools are funny.

I will say, if I was Ocho's teammates, I rather have him talking with Palmer or looking at D pictures rather than playing the fool.

I also would like the TV camera's on the cheerleaders during the breaks than on Chad being the fool.

But at least they aren't showing Sanchez eating a hotdog, which was boring and very stupid.

In the end, what did his attempt at "Humor" hurt?

You would have to believe that a huge contingent of fans would automatically think that the refs are willing to take bribes based on that incident.

I question some fans knowledge level at times, but I don't think they are that silly.
Only reason this is a big deal is cause the talking heads on ESPN spun it to be a big deal.

$1,000 for the bribe + $9,000 for being stupid + $10,000 for the NFL to go overboard = $20,000 penalty

    /was funny though

Its not that he's hurting anyone as much as he's disrespecting the league, officials and the rules.
Not that I think it should be the no fun league it doesn't have to be the asshat league either and old Ocho doesn't seem to be learning that by being fined.
If he really thinks he can continue to break rules and just pay his fine and do it again it might be time for him to sit for a week like other players in the league that have multiple fines for repeated infractions.
