Matt Maiocco, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan has not interviewed assistant head coach Mike Singletary for the team's vacant defensive coordinator position. Nolan said he does not have to interview Singletary because he knows all he needs to know about him. When asked why he wouldn't just name Singletary the defensive coordinator, Nolan said, "Because Mike is the assistant head coach. For some people, it's just a title and it means nothing. To me, it means a lot of things. I don't want to detract from any of those things."

if DC is higher then AC then we should start trying to make some moves whether itbe for singletary, or try to go and steal mora jr from the seahawks because isnt it true that you can interview a coach if its for a higher position, i mean i know we just lost tomlin, but i dont want to sit around and have to pick up a mediocre DC if there are wuality ones out there now... singletary wasa stud linebacker as u all know, he could really beef up the lb corps
