You can call him Mr. Jones or Adam  he’s fine with either  but he asks that you no longer call him Pacman....

LOL! As if dropping the name "Pacman" will change his reputation.
12-Pak man is more like it.

Re: No more "Pacman" Jones
No, dropping the name Pacman won't change his reputation..
He's gotta do that himself.
But if he thinks not being called Pacman will help him deal with his problems/issues in his head, then by golly, good for him.
At least he's showing some sort of attempt.
Will he be successful?
Who knows.
But personally I like to see when guys like him make changes for the better.
It's just too bad he has to play for the Cowboys..
ICK!Vegans are eating the rainforests. =(

I think a small portion of this is about not being bigger than the team. "PacMan this and PacMan that," if he can get to the point where people call him Adam and he responds to his given name, that will mean that he has earned the right to have his real name used and that will be respect in itself from others.
If he does stupid Pooh, then the media will disrespect his wishes and call him PacMan anyway.
It is probably more so a psychological thing.
PacMan to him represents someone that has done a lot of crazy pooh!
It is a state of mind being PacMan.
He is trying to get rid of that frame of mind.
This is a big step for him.
