The NFL's bottom five for '06

It's prime time to hear TV pundits tell you that every NFL team has a chance to make the Super Bowl. In reality, there are a few dominant teams, and more teams have a shot at being No. 1 in April's draft than after February's big game. Here is the "bottom" five for '06:

5. Texans. They might regret missing out on Reggie Bush, but if they fall up to the first pick again, another explosive offensive playmaker might be waiting for them -- in Ohio State standout Ted Ginn Jr.

4. Packers. With what's left in front of him, Brett Favre often will be the Big Cheese that stands alone. The Pack need a big line leader, and big Badgers tackle Joe Thomas might be the local solution at No. 1 in '07.

3. Raiders. If quarterback is the game's most important position, then Oakland is in trouble with a shaky Aaron Brooks. If Andrew Walter isn't the future, then Louisville's Brian Brohm or Notre Dame's Brady Quinn would be.

2. Jets. There are concerns about the passing game, the running game, the front seven and the secondary. Something tells us "the best player available" will be the theme of their draft.

1. 49ers. A defense that wasn't very good or experienced in '05 is worse off without veteran outside linebackers Julian Peterson and Andre Carter. That's good news, however, for the nation's top OLB, Penn State's Paul Posluszny.

The nice part is that we play three of those five teams in the regular season...

Can't fault those choices. I'd put the Jets at 6th worst purely because they're going to be without even an adequate running back, and they have an O-Line that will have 2 rookies starting at Left Tackle and Centre. Unless Ferguson and Mangold are incredible and ready for the pro's, I can't seem them performing at a level high enough to protect the Pennington for the majority, if not all, of the season.

As long as the Pukers are there I'm happy.

I still don't know what the Raiders were thinking with Brooks

i agree with that list, but i honestly don't think the texans are the worst teamin the league.
they made a few good pickups.
they won't be a threat at all, but i dont think they're the worst.
bottom 10 probably.

Without a doubt, SF is the worst team in the league

when you have 2 years with top 10 picks, and your predicted to have another, you are the worst team.

im with you on that, they're a team taht has consistantly gotten worse each year; even when consecutively beign considered the worst already

also, every team has one of the best at their positions except for san fran.
they're just allaround terrible, and lost their only good players
