I think there are a lot of people out there who are fans of the player rather than the team,
personally I couldn't wear another teams jersey regardless of the name on the back.

is already wrong, because Adrian Peterson will have the #1 selling jersey in 2008.
Do a bit of research into trends into jersey sales over the life of the just-completed season, rather than including all of the dead-time from last April-August, and you will find that Peterson's jersey sales were miniscule and then exploded during the season.
If that trend continues, he will easily have the top-seller in 2008.
Not including him is a serious miscalculation on your part - and I would quickly rectify that, if possible.

6. Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings--With Moss and Culpepper gone, Peterson fills the purple gap.

I totally agree...AD does much more than fill the "purple gap". His jersey is the only Vikings jersey they sell at Modell's (large northeast sports store), and they can't keep them in stock. I told the manager to order a lot more for next year.
