Does England still have that whole TV monopoly?
Where the Gov't can drive around and find out if you are watching TV without having paid your tax to watch?

18.25 Thats too expensive per game.

Just head down to the sports bar and catch the game. At least you get to see the game, order good food and drinks and still only spend like 15 bucks. Well thats how much i usually spend, dont know about you guys.
So, spending $18.25 is too much but $15.00 is not?
I hate the Sports Bar thing. Can never hear the game, TV may be small, and the place is filled with smoke. Not to mention a lot of idiots are there. I prefer the sancity (sp) of my own home.
And I get to set up my Viking Shrine around the 52" TV.
Get some home cooked meals and continue the Viking Legacy with my kids.
Really for me that is the best part.

yep we still have that, these days they tend to do most of it via the TV Licensing records. Then they pay a visit and find out if you actually have a TV.

    Re: NFL Suday ticket

DirectTV and the NFL Sunday Ticket are what really brought me back "home". I grew up in Viking land and when we moved down south I thought the end was near ("Elizabeth, this is the big one!"). I was young and got into other things, but always still had this twinge in my head for football. Now, here in the south, if you want football there is plenty of college ball and all that but it just did not do it for me as i was a BIG 10 Fan in that arena.
Anyway, the years passed and I got married and got DirecTV. I was saved! Sunday Ticket was on faster than you can say NFL and now they bless me with the NFL Network and all the sports news I can handle. I even had it set up to where I could watch the preseason games years ago by telling DirecTV that my zip code was one in Minneapolis. I was getting all the local Minnesota channels in Alabama....that was awesome. Then DirecTV got wise to that and changed satellites on me. They knew I was telling stories and cut me off from the homeland channels. Then, fortunately, last year they started showing preseason games on NFL Network. It may have been after the fact, but a game is a game.
As far as the wife goes, she finally gave in and helped me design my own Vikings room and she has since become a big Vikings fan herself.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

That just seems odd to me.
And too pay someone to police that.
    hum..
But that job seems like a cream puff .
Knocking on peoples door to see if they have TV's.

I f I move to Jolly ole' England, I will apply for that job.

But having said that,I would not be suprised if something like that started here in the States.

    Re: NFL Suday ticket

NFL ticket is so worth it. Luckily my wife loves football too. She's a Dolphin fan but loves the Vikes as well. Think of it this way. I live in FL so I will only get to see a few games a year unless I go to a sports bar. She doesn't mind going either but it turns out cheaper in the house watching it. I don't get away with $15. Think about food and beer for the both of us. $35 easy. Not to mention the smoke and arguments you get into with stupid Packer and Bear fans. Plus the sound may not be on the game I want to watch. Also take the price of gas into consideration. I say NFL Ticket all the way. They are basturds for raising the price every year. They always act like they have a big promotion and are doing you a favor but it always goes up. They promise the year before it will go down. I wish cable companies can get involved wiht the NFL Ticket so it isn't such a monopoly. The prices would have to be reduced then.

Oh My God my wife is a Dolphin fan too!!!

And when Marino broke Tark's record she was all up in my face.

    Almost on COPS that day..............
Not really that is a joke..............
Seems like we need to start putting disclaimers on our humour.
That extra "u" is for our British Viking Buddies.

A cream puff it ain't and people get very uptight when they realise that they'll have to start paying money - as well as a fine... so not quite a cushy job.
Thats the way things work here. need a licence or pay a tax to do most things in this country
