Only about a week and a half until they announce the rest of the schedule.
If my calculations are correct (bwa ha ha) they should release the entire schedule on Thursday, April 5th...

    The 49ers are a team on-the-rise.
The Cardinals have marquee stars in Leinart, Boldin, Fitzgerald and James.
It's a divisional game and, as the second game of a Monday Night double-header, it needed to feature a home team from the West Coast.
As the Chargers are hosting the Bears on Sunday in the premiere game of that weekend, that leaves only Seattle, Oakland and San Francisco as West Coast-based teams available to host the late game.

    I don't think it's a bad choice at all.
The Cardinals played in what was probably the most entertaining Monday Night game of the entire 2006 season.

I don't think the Vikings did anything in 2006 which was worthy of scheduling them for a prime-time matchup.

I think all of the Week 1 games listed here, look hot.
I hope the Chargers trounce the Bears.
