But since he wouldn't start catching anything until week 9, we'd still be screwed...

According to Frazier, the lockout will not handicap the Vikings, so we'll be just fine. (sarcasm off)

I really hope Fraizer is just being optimistic and does not truly believe that.

To be quite honest, Fraizer is not instilling alot of confidence in me. He's really taking a back-seat approach to running this team. Any good coach will understand the importance of the offseason for a rookie to get to know his teammates, develop a rapport and become a leader. I just pray Fraizer is simply saying this to try and get the feeling that "it's not too bad, we'll make this work".

Can someone give me an update on the lockout? I don't know what is going on or what it means. :P

There's really not much to say at this point.

Players sued the NFL and got the lockout lifted. NFL appealed right away, and the lockout got put back on until the court case is settled. There was a court date on June 6th, and there was supposed to be a decision made within 2-6 weeks. Currently the NFL and players are in talks trying to work out their issues, but there has been no reportable progress thus far.

I firmly do believe there will be football this season, it's all a matter of when.

Thank you so much! Do you think more talking and progress will be made as the season gets closer?

    Absolutely.

There's too much money to be lost by not playing. Guys like Jerry jones, or Robert Kraft who have a shiny new stadium need asses in those seats to make money. Like Jones said "I didn't spend $1.2 billion on a stadium to not play football in it". As the season draws closer, players and owners will be more likely to make some concessions in order to get playing.

Unfortunately, some of the guys who will feel this the most are the late-round rookies. Without a job and no signing bonus, they're going to need to get temp. real-people jobs.
