NFL Power Poll: Only a slight slide for Cassel, Patriots

18. Minnesota Vikings (0-1), down 6. All eyes are on Tarvaris Jackson to deliver for a talented team, but if the same passing struggles continue, should Gus Frerotte be considered? The Vikings still have some work to do to dethrone the Pack.

Of course Gus should be "considered" if the struggle continues. The opposite of that would be: no matter how bad Tarvaris gets, we play him. Doh !

46% completion is piss poor. Not to mention the final dagger INT."StillPurple" wrote:

I know that T-Jack is the hot topic and all ... but really ... dropping 6 spots for losing on the ROAD on MONDAY NIGHT? Much less losing on the road to a team they had RANKED above us? I don't understand how power rankings work like this. We had the ball and a chance to win late on the road against a team that SN clearly thought was better than us.
Maybe a slide, but six spots seems a little unfair.

Not near as big of a surprise as the Bears move:
What kind of an asinine approach to football is that?7. Chicago Bears (1-0), up 16. The joke is on all of us who thought Kyle Orton wasn't even a capable backup. He is exactly what the Bears need -- a QB who protects the ball and allows (you guessed it) the defense and running game to carry him home. What a great start at Indy.
NE at #3 w/ Cassel? NFC leading the top 2 spots?
Tenessee at #5?
