Re: NFL leaves legends behind
Wow. This story sounds pretty similar to the one about the late great George Mikan, when he passed away a few years ago. Mr. Mikan struggled with medical bills and the whole money issue came up. I know that the NBA came up with a plan that will be adjusted for inflation and the cost of living standards of today, in order to help older former NBA players; the ones that laid the foundation for the NBA. I like that approach. The NFL can do better than what it has been doing in the past. The NBA is paying some of its former players pensions in the $1,000 and up range a month and the NFL is forking out $100 a month? Please. I am glad that Mike Ditka is leading the charge for the older players, go get 'em Mike.
