Just to look ahead...Jerry Rice and Emmitt Smith for sure next year.

Tim Brown vs Carter vs Reed. all WR next year. I dunno.
Rich Gannon, Eddie George won't get in next year. At least I don't think so.
Gary Anderson as a kicker, i sure hope not.
I don't think Rich Gannon or Eddie George even deserve to be in there...ever.

I will never forget Draft Day 1988.
Vikes picked Randall McDaniel #19...ESPN showed him in his uniform, doing a 360 DUNK.
One helluva player, a true Vike.
    Classy, cerebral, Leader by example.
I am thrilled for him...Congrats Mr McDaniel, really enjoyed watching you play.
Would have loved to see Cris Carter too, however, what a well deserved recognition.

Once again another well-deserving player gets snubbed. Carter gets robbed AGAIN.

And where's the love for Mick Tinglehoff and Jim Marshall? I'm gonna die before I see either of those fine, well-deserving gentlemen get in.

The time for indignation for Tinglehoff and Marshall was long ago when the Veteran's Committee put their nominees into the finalists list.

Cris Carter must have been a complete dick to some of these media guys - it's the only explanation which makes any sense.
They know he'll get in - eventually - but he's going to have to wait because they don't like him.
Mike Morris has alluded to as much on his KFAN morning show.

Thanks to Josdin for the awesome sig!

I wonder what was going through the heads of the people who voted.
    "hmm...
    let's elect a wide receiver.
We could do either Cris Carter or Bob Hayes."
If they were discussing it what could anyone say to justify a 7,000 yard wide receiver versus Cris Carter.

    I could see that.
Due to my work, I've met alot of these guys, Rashad, Alan Page, Jim Marshall, Michael Strahan, Rich Gannon, John Unitas (RIP
:'(), Ronde Barber, Jerome Bettis, and, Cris Carter, to name a few.
CC was hands down, the only rude one of the bunch.
Funnier than hell, but downright rude and disrespectful.
That notwithstanding, he deserves to be in the HOF now and if that is why he's not, then voters criteria has become absurd.

I've heard Peter King speak about his votes often on Sirius NFL Radio.
He always talks about "consistency, over a long period of time."
Sprinkled with, "impact on the game, did he change the way the game is played?"
Through non-purple lenses, CC was very consistent, but, he didn't change the way the game was played.
However, I think "changing the way the game was played is reserved for elite, upper echelon of HOFers, like Marino, LT, Jerry Rice, or, perhaps, for shortened careers, like Gale Sayers perhaps, or, for positions like TE and John Mackey...not for every consideration.
