    NFL furthers ban on Alcohol

    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2888453

NEW YORK -- NFL clubs may no longer serve alcohol at team functions or on buses or flights, extending a ban that until now applied only in locker rooms.

NFL owners and executives were told Thursday by commissioner Roger Goodell that the rule pertains not only to players but also to owners, coaches and guests.

Ok so if they want to have a team sponsered banquet or something that means no Alcohol? I can se backlash for that one. Long cross country flights? wow that could suck for some players, that I know will have a drink because they just do not like flying.

.....Teams were informed of the ban on Thursday by the league and told it also includes owners, coaches and guests....

Re: NFL furthers ban on Alcohol

The alcohol ban, which already was in effect for the locker room, won't have much of an impact on the Vikings. The team has not made alcohol available to its players on airplane flights in recent seasons. "As long as [Goodell] doesn't outlaw pizza in the locker room, we'll be OK after the game," coach Brad Childress joked.
Are there locker rooms in the NFL where alcohol is allowed?

I did not know the Vikings prohibited alcohol on flights. Tommy Kramer wouldn't like it much had they done this back in his day.

I wonder what the NFL Beer Sponsors think of all this "Banning" going on. It funny that the NFL doesn’t have a problem taking their money though.

They should ban it in the stands, that's where all the trouble occurs.

does this mean at the Draft Parties there will be no more alcohol because it is a team building and we would be the guests?? i think this is getting a little too far not to allow it on the planes, like someone said if they dont like flying they have a drink now what are they supposed to do? i understand it is to cut down on the Dui's and stuff but this is going a little too far..

    Thanks josdin00

I doubt it. If that was the case, they couldn't sell alcohol at games.
