Re: NFL considers 2 games a year outside U.S

No no no no no no no.
    Bad idea.
It just makes the game more about money and less about sport.
Its as bad an idea as naming your stadium 'The Pink Taco".
I hate selling the stadium name to the highest bidder.
That kind of traveling is a disadvantage to both teams.
How would you feel if your team were in a close race for the playoffs and a crucial game was scheduled to be played in China and you lost.
A game that would have been a home game for you except that your number came up to sacrifice a home game this particular year.
It just screws with the schedule so the NFL can make a little extra money.
If they want to play a game out of country make it the pro-bowl.
Who cares about that game any way and all the big name players would probably make it more interesting for countries that could care less about American football.

the only way the vikings would probably play in a regular season game over there is if their ticket sales started falling, thats why the two teams chosen last year were selected, they could barely sell out their home stadiums
Now that you put it that way....
wouldnt it be cruel and unusual punishment to make the rest of the world have to watch the RaiDUHs, Packers, Texans, and Lions every year?
After a two year trial, the rest of the world would say..NEVER MIND!
I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

That's why they sent teams like the Niners and Cards last year, next year it would be the Raiders and Titans in Beijing and Lions and Packers in Beirut

Can our image in the Middle East really take that sort of hit?
We may want to reschedule that game for Greenland or Iceland.

Detroit players may find Beirut more peaceful, less shotting than home game

Packers could find goats a nice change of pace over sheep

Point taken....perhaps the Packers could learn from their cultural experience as well...and begin covering the faces of their women!

It seems like this is just a step towards capturing China's untapped population of idolworshiping jersey and merchandise purchasers.
I have read articles of the NBA's success of spreading international and specifically to China (mainly due to the aid of Yao), and now the NFL, MLB and even NASCAR, are trying to replicate their success of spreading interest in their brand.
Seems after decades of worshipping the communist party China's youth are now ready to worship american atheletes

I think it is more of a popular thing among the youth in developed Eastern China to have a favorite player and team and sport their jerseys.
I dont know if it has anythign to do with a legitimate concern for.
It is kinda like when I was a little kid the most expensive card I found in a pack was a $50 Frank Thomas card when he was in his prime.
Frank Thomas and the Chi Sox became my favorites for no other reason then that and he was a legitimate bada$$ slugger back then.
I remember in school even putting down that he was my idol whenever assignments would ask but I didnt even know why or care.
