You can make a football out of pigskin
But you can't make a football team out of a Matt Millen created pig's ear.

We all know that the GM is just a figure head.I think they should have kept Millen.
All the Lions woes are because the HC didn't/couldn't:
a.
Sign any quality Vets.
b.
Draft quality players.
c.
Work the salary CAP.
etc etc etc.
(LOL, I crack myself up sometimes)
;D
Seriously, I feel sorry for the guy but wouldn't want him as my HC.
Although alot of the issues related to this team can be traced directly to the FO, others can be traced to the coaches and the scheme they run and the system used to get the players ready to execute that scheme week in and week out. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Why is it different than the Vikings?
My vite would be for Mike Smith in Atlanta

Re: NFL Coach of the Year
It seems like Marinelli is probably a good guy, a hard worker and an honest coach.
But the problem with voting for him for coach of the year is that even though he has some good qualities, he appears to lack the qualities of a good coach.
That is, he doesn't have his team prepared to go out and win games every week.
We can talk about how bad the roster is, but in the NFL every team has a reasonable amount of talent.
That should translate into at least a few wins if your coach is doing a good job getting the team ready.
So I think Marinelli has been a good sport and good loser, but not a good coach this year. When the age of the Vikings came to a close, they must have sensed it. Probably, they gathered together one evening, slapped each other on the back and said, "Hey, good job." - Jack Handey [Deep Thoughts]

Been trying to convince the mindless masses since I started posting on the next (let alone this site) how a real NFL organization is run.
Now I just sit back and push out jibberish like above cause it humors me....Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

If the Vikes win the Super Bowl, I'll vote for Childress!

Yes, that would have guaranteed them the cellar for another 3-5 years.
My vote would be for Smith, Sparano, Fisher or Dungy.
Dungy hasn't really done much this year?

Of course Dungy is a great coach, but his team is having a down year (I wish a down year for the vikings was a whole 4 losses)
This often goes to a team that comes out of nowhere to win, or a team that exceeds expectations...
for example, the Bears a few years ago.
