Good.
I thought this would be a huge detractor with respect to getting teams ready. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Can't say I'm heartbroken.
Do you really think they could have charged the same for tickets in China and actually sold out?
Does the Communist Ideal leave room for football tickets?
Somehow I doubt it.-Sno

I don't think it detracts any from the preparation, at least not any more than playing in any other area, like Europe or Japan.
I do understand the logistic problems though.
From what I hear they are way behind in the Olympics preparation.
As far as the communist ideal leaving room for football, I think getting the most populous country in the world interested in the sport wouldn't be a bad business move.
But in the end I am not all that disappointed by the news.Zeus wrote:

Gotta agree in part here, I quake at the thought of the Vikes getting thier training camp adjusted to play over there also.I don't think it detracts any from the preparation, at least not any more than playing in any other area, like Europe or Japan.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...092400715.htmlThe extra game and trip to China will cause coaches of both teams to make substantial adjustments to their training camp schedules.
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200....insidethenfl/But it will be interesting to see how the teams will respond to the news, particularly Patriots coach Bill Belichick. It could be a training-camp nightmare for the clubs. Belichick hates any distractions and prefers camp to be run on a strict routine. But camp will be broken up for 10 days in the middle of the summer with a six-hour flight to Seattle, then a game, then a 12-hour flight to Beijing, then practices and public displays in a country totally unfamiliar with the game, then a game against the same team, then a 16-hour flight back to New England. And don't think Mike Holmgren will be too thrilled with the arrangement, either -- assuming he's still the Seattle coach next summer.
Again, I think it is a big detractor. Many many thanks to my talented friend Jos for the new Sig.

Re: NFL to cancel China game
The real reason they canceled it was China thought the Seahawks were real birds and were afraid of bird flue.
