Re: NFL 2008: Top 10 Most Ridiculous Fines
Need proof that the NFL hates the Vikings? We have two player on the top 10 list.
Quote:
8. E.J. Henderson fined $5,000 for illegal use of hands (Isaac Barrow)
Sean says: These things just keep getting more and more idiotic as we go down the list. I have a theory, the tough economic times have impacted the NFL a lot more then they want us to know so they take money away from the overpaid players to make up their losses.
Anybody with me on that?
Quote:
2. Jared Allen fined $50,000 for hits on Matt Schaub (James Williamson)
Sean says: This is No. 4, minus the league admitting it's mistake. Should we just take defensive ends out of the game completely? That would mean the quarterback would rarely get hit. Wait, but then the league wouldn't be able to keep sapping money out of its players unfairly. Who's next, the nose tackle?
PS: Anyone knows what E.J. Henderson did that was considered "illegal use of hands" ?

not 100% sure, but I assume he probably had his hands up in someone's face when he was being blocked.
thats usually what it is.

Quote:
5. Lamarr Woodley fined for hitting Jason Campbell in an "intimidating manner."
Intimidating defensive play is finable now.....time to become the flag football league :'(
either its un-necessary roughness, illegal hit, unsportsman like or personal foul but don't state a fine on intimidation this isn't the Nancy Football League or is it changing to that with a new logo.

"Intimidating play?"
Just imagine if LT or Butkus was playing today. LT would be fined $1M for that hit on Theismann.

Re: NFL 2008: Top 10 Most Ridiculous Fines
Hey! Lay off the NFL....
haven't you heard there's a recession.
The NFL recently had to lay some people off.
By giving out all these fines they are saving jobs.
Or is Goodell going to lose a bonus??
So is Goodell playing Robin Hood, robbing from the rich and giving to the poor?
Or is he a communist trying to create equality?

he's a biased control freak trying to control the NFL with fines and well timed suspensions so the big market teams can make him more money in the playoffs

Yeah...Lots of players would be second guessing what makes this game fun for themselves and for the fans...ie) throwing a ball in the stands
