Looks like the AZ fans have a bit more faith in their team now...NFC TITLE GAME SELLS OUT IN SIX MINUTES
Posted by Mike Florio on January 11, 2009, 7:12 p.m.
Last weekend, the Arizona Cardinals needed two extensions in order to sell enough tickets to allow their wild-card game against the Falcons to be televised locally.
With the Cardinals unexpectedly hosting the NFC Championship, the tickets moved a bit more quickly.
The team has announced that the stadium sold out in only six minutes.

Re: NFC Title Game sells out in six minutes
I heard that they had to purchase the playoff package the first time around(tickets to both games).....and if there wasn't a second game in Arizona, they would be refunded after the fact.
So.....
if that is true, then they were sold out before they even knew there would be another game....since their first playoff game was a sellout.
maybe that is not the case.....but if it isnt, even in the day and age of the internet.....how in the hell can you sell out 50,000+ in 6 minutes?
It would take longer then 6 minutes for the computers to sort out seating request and approve transactions unless 99% of the seats were already paid for.I'd much rather see the Packers miss the playoffs because of their talent then because of their injuries.

Season-ticket holders were invoiced for 2 possible playoff games - a wild-card/divisional game and the NFC championship.
If (as with the Vikes) you don't host the NFC championship, you can either get a refund or have the money applied to next-season's ticket.
That's what I did.

Gotcha.....so the 6 minute sellout makes more sense when there is only a handful of general public tickets left to sell."Vikefanman2000" wrote:

Just like the Vikings, the Cardinals did NOT have a high percentage of season ticket holders opt for the playoff tickets.
That is why they, just like the Vikings, needed two extensions to sell out the Wild Card game.
(Unlike the Vikes though, they knew they were hosting a home wildcard game for three weeks)
The number of tickets they had left to sell after week 17 is roughly the same number that they had to sell for the NFC Championship game.
Lots of bandwagon fans jumping on down there.Zeus wrote:

All those "bandwagon" fans (and I do disagree with that label, NP) sat with their credit-cards in hand, watching the Eagles beat the Giants and were ready when the tickets went on sale.
