NFC Playoff Picture

here's the basic playoff picture for the NFC

Division Leaders

Dallas Cowboys 7-4 (tiebreaker over NYG, game 2 next week)

Chicago Bears 8-3 (tiebreaker over Carolina for 2nd in NFC)

Carolina Panthers 8-3

Seattle Seahawks 9-2


wild Card

New York Giants 7-4 (we have tiebreaker over them in case of a tied record)

Tampa Bay Buccanneers 7-4 (they have the tiebreaker over Minnesota and Atlanta)


in the hunt

Atl. 7-4 (lost to Tampa, beat MIn)
MIn 6-4 ( tiebreker over NYG)


realisticially i see us possibly winning 4 of the last 5 games which would give us an 10-5 record

Chicago will most likely win at lest 2 of their last games so division champ is probably out of the picture but they could possibly lose @ pittsburgh, probly not against ATL but any given sunday... other games are green bay @ chicago, vs GB and @ MIn

if Chicago loses to ATL and PIT and we win all 4 games then we'll both be 10-4 on Jan 1 and the winner gets the division.

but... as Pittsburgh is a good team, they willl be tough to beat so if we go 4-1 throught the last games (losses to CHicago or Pittsburgh) we will be at 10-5, and ligitimate contenders for a wild card spot

we however can not lose more than 1 game, if we do we will need a miracle to make the playoffs, and even if we do lose 1 game we will still need some help from other teams

Aren't there 16 games in the season?

we are in the playoff race which is more than we could say 2 months ago.

we could get a wild card. tha would be sweet. however, NY and TB would need to lose more games than us in these weeks of the season.

we are still statistically in the race for division title too... with some loses from the bears. but they have a lucky charm or something. tampa's kicker missed the tying 24 yard FG!!! What is that!?

the playoofs are no longer just possible for us. we will prolly get there.

i have a feeling.

The NFC South have several remaining games left against each other, which means at least one of Atlanta, Tampa, or Carolina is going suffer. It's possible they all get set back a game or two. Also, Dallas and NYGiants play this week, which will help us either way, because one of them is going to lose.

All we have to do is keep winning. The rest will likely fall into place.

We have a very good chace to win the wild card. Simply look at the remaining games on the schedule.
Dallas v Giants
Atlanta v Carolina
TB v Carolina
Dalls v Wash
Atlanta v Chicago
Giants v Wash
Dallas v Carolina
Atlanta v TB
Carolina v Atlanta

The teams in front of us are forced to have losses due to the fact they all play each other.

don't tie breakers go to div reacord than conf. record first
