    Sounds like
Birk is thinking pretty even keel on this whole contract matter. Reading what he said, I'd probably do the same.

    Also,
Tight end Visanthe Shiancoe, a disappointment last season after signing as a free agent, was a standout at minicamp. Shiancoe made several nice catches, including three circus grabs on the first day of the workouts.
How about that? IT'll be nice to see him be able to run more routes, if only our offensive line won't need any help pass protecting.

Birk said the fact his wife is expecting the couple’s fourth child this week played a significant role in his decision to stay away but also admitted his thinking was impacted by his contract situation.
I am glad to see it was not all about the contract.

I posted that same quote a few times in the threads where people were blasting Shiancoe, but the naysayers simply ignored it.

Shaiancoe haters and haters in general always ignore the truth. Reality seems to be missing when they are ranting about his "many drops" and whatever they argue on why he sucks.

Last season I was reading the about how great Williamson looked in minicamp.
    How did that work out?

Who cares?! Is Shank Troy? NO! Shank did not look bad like Williamson had last year and the year before that. This is Shanks 2nd year starting. The two are not even comparable.

T-Will was catching balls thrown from a machine. Shiancoe has been catching them in drills.

    Big difference.

During training camp when I was there. T-Will was both catching & dropping balls.

If you would have taken the time to read some of the other articles I posted, others have also said Shiancoe was the bright spot of the OTA's & minicamp.

Are you trying to say that Shank did not look bad last season?
    He stunk, end of story.
