49ers trade Shaun Hill to Lions

    by Michael David Smith

The Detroit Lions have a new backup quarterback, acquiring Shaun Hill in a trade with the San Francisco 49ers.

Matt Barros of the Sacramento Bee reports that the 49ers sent Hill to the Lions for a seventh-round draft pick in 2011.

    Vikings

    - Interested in RFA Marlin Jackson. Didn't get tendered, so they could sign him, even with the final 8 rule prohibiting them from signing an UFA.
    - Lost Chester Taylor to FA. He later signed with the Bears.
    - Due to Taylor signing somewhere else, the Vikings can now sign one UFA.
    - Lost Artis Hicks to FA. He signed with the Redskins.
    - Signed K Rhys Lloyd. Potential kick-off specialist.
    - Resigned Benny Sapp
    - Shown heavy interest in LDT. It's between the Vikings and the Jets right now.

    Lions

    - Traded a 5th and a 6th to the Browns for Corey Williams.
    - Signed Kyle Vanden Bosch. Vanden Bosch played for Schwartz in Tennessee.
    - Signed Nate Burleson to a 5 year deal.
    - Let starting CB Philip Buchanon go.
    - Released Grady Jackson. Started 13 games in 2009.
    - Traded a 5th and a 6th for Atlanta's 5th and CB Chris Houston.
    - Signed FA CB Jonathan Wade.
    - Traded a 7th for QB Shaun Hill.

    Bears

    - Signed Julius Peppers.
    - Signed Brandon Manumaleuna.
    - Signed Chester Taylor.
    - Expected to trade Greg Olsen, who "doesn't fit Martz's offensive scheme".

    Packers

    - Re-signed FA Clifton. Got heavy interest from Redskins.
    - Lost Aaron Kampman to the Jaguars.
    - Signed Ryan Pickett to 4 year deal.
    - Signed Nick Collins to 3 year deal.
    - Signed FA RT Tauscher to 2 year deal.

This time, the Lions actually lose a player. Larry Foote signs with the Steelers, according to La Canfora.

CT still has tread left. not so with LT imo. LT wouldn't have been an upgrade. we need to get younger. getting young and fast is the way to go.

One bad/great thing about the internet is that any monkey with a keyboard and mouse can have a blog (I get paid in bananas) and create rumors about their favorite football team.

Here are a few that Iíve come across that may or may not have any merit to get you through this boring stretch:

The quote below is true, Wilf has already said he was voting against it.

The Vikings may actually vote AGAINST changing the overtime rules for the playoffs, despite the fact that they were the most recent team to get a raw deal from the current rules.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.

I absolutely despise this new rule. On a side note, how in tune am I and our Ownership group?

Is missing Favre problematic for rest of Vikings?
Doesn't just talk about the Noodle. Actually talks about all NFCN teams.
