anyone that is into football or follows it knows how long this rivalry has been going on. to me, its the best rivalry in the nfl. for those SPECTATORS that just wanna WATCH footbal and dont know a damn about this rivalry, they get a good game to watch tomorrow and any other time these two teams play.

damn, thats a lot of "rivalry".

I definitely think they could rev the schedule up in a few ways. The Jets and Giants should play EVERY year, I mean they are rivals automatically ... Tampa and Jacksonville and Miami could play every year, etc. I dont think that many Super Bowls end up with teams that have faced each other lately though, I mean you have a 1 in four shot I guess ... This year if it is say Indy and Seattle they would have played each other, but if it is Pittsburgh and Seattle they haven't, so I don't know that you can control that that much ... I think they should have two Monday night games every week so that they can pick whcih one is the best matchup for the national broadcast.

Its hit and miss for ABC. They have to go after ratings. Crappy teams who are not forcasted to do well or are smaller market teams are not going to show up.

Remember a few years ago when Dallas and the Gaints played? They were both something like 1-5. Hah!

I too agree that ABC should have rival teams playing as oppose to what they do now.
Here are some enteresting teams/rivals I would like to see on MNF:
    - Packers/Vikings (ALWAYS! Both games a season should be on ABC...unless of course, we can get Christmas Eve/Day and or Thanksgiving!)
    -Giants/Jets (bragging rights!)
    - Vikings/Raiders (not a rivalry just yet! But, with Moss sportin' the gold and black, it definately can be!)
    -Eagles/Falcons
    -Colts/Patriots
    -Steelers/Patriots
-Packers/Bears (although, this rivalry isn't as fun as it used to be, all thanks to the Vikings lol and their ability to distract the Packers from the Bears)

The MNF games are preset before the season starts. There's no way of knowing which teams are going to be doing poorly that far in advance.

Superbowl teams are always a shoe in, as are the Packers as long as Madden & Favre are around.

The one thing I would like to see changed is someone other than Dallas & the Lions playing on Thanksgiving every year.

That must get old for the players coaches & even some fans who would like to celebrate that day with their families.

    Re: next year

i've talked to a couple people this week about tonight's game. they all have said who cares about the Packers/Vikings MNF game. i was all WTF c'mon if you follow football at all, the records don't matter in this game it's the GREATEST rivalry of all time.

last year i was saying when it finally was lined up that the Packers were playing the Vikings, all i kept saying is i don't care how the rest of the season went i just want to send the Packers home!

    Thanks Josdin
