I can see why they'd want McCarthy in there. Just look at that explosive 49er offense this year.

McCarthy and Favre after beating the Vikes at Lambeau in 1999 (no lie).

Oh my, what will Madden do when he sees this picture brought back into the mix?

Re: New Leader of the Pack

Why would they hire this guy to appease Favre, who is running that dump in Green Bay? Why would you want Favre back let alone hire somebody to make sure his does comeback! If they told him to stay away and retire they would free up more than 10 Million in cap room and give them over 30 million to spend on free agents! Why bring somebody back that is obviously to old to get er done anymore, 29 INT's!

And it is not like the 49ers had a just 1 bad year they have sucked on offense for 3 years at least! Well sorry for you Packer fans, happy for us we get to play Favre 2 times next year!! I can't wait to see how many times we pick-off his sorry a$$ again next year, look out for that low flying duck (oh that was a Favre pass)!
What we've got here is failure to communicate.

McCarthy is just kissing Favre's head. Madden won't mind. He spends all of his time kissing Favre's ass.

lmao...wow...the 49ers offensive coordinator? What good has come out of thier offense in the past 5-6 years? Nothing. Brandon Loyyd is the only star amoungest a sea of crappy players on that offense. Plus he looks like a Du3sh.

Theres NOTHING greater then a Florida Gator!

thats exactly it. The niners have no talent on offense. Not even Jesus christ himself could coach that pitiful offense. They have....that Lloyd guy at WR and thats it. McCarthy wasn't high on my list of candidates, not because of his past, but because I didn't want to see the Packers go with a WCO type of guy again. He obviously was more impressive in his interview than the other guys since Thompson is hiring him instead of the other candidates

all I know is that Thompson is taking a HUGE gamble with this signing. This signing will define Thompson from here on out. This is all on him
