New England can clinch AFC East by week 12...

The Pat's magic number right now is four.
Any combination of Pats wins and Bill's losses that equal four and the Pats will clinch the AFC east.
However, since the Pats and Bills play each other for the second and final time next week, if the Pats win, they will own the tie breaker and reduce the magic number to 1 - meaning that if the Pats win again in week 12 or the Bills lose, the Pats clinch...
Just curious, anyone happen to know the record for clinching the division the earliest?

Also of note, the Dolphins are officially eliminated from playoff contention, although surprisingly the 1-8 Jets technically are not even though they are in the same division.

I just want to see the Dolphins go 0-16, and Pats go 16-0 just to hear Shula whine even more.

Nope, I want to see a 14-0 Patriots lose to the 0-14 Dolphins in week 16, just because it will be the upset of the century.
It is actually feasible, because by that time the Pats will likely have wrapped up the #1 seed, and their starters will only be playing a couple of series...

Caj, I know you'll hate me for this, but if it comes down to a Pats-Packers superbowl, I will be cheering my ass off for the Pats.

Does anyone actually think the starters will rest? I think they will go all out until they win the superbowl just to cram it down the leagues throat.

    Crap.
OK, then I guess I just have to pray that there isn't a Pats-Packers superbowl...

And with yesterday's game... NE can officially clinch next week with a NE win or a Bills' loss.

In all honesty, I'd cheer for the Pack over the Pats.
    Disclaimer: I'm an idiot.
