They cut Napoleon Harris.. Profootballtalk believes his destination will be with us.. I don't mind having him back on the cheap, our linebacker depth is horrible.
Then again he reminds us all that he was acquired in the Moss package.

I think we all agree that the Moss trade was pure genius.
I don't think Napo was that bad, but certainly not worth the 24.5 million the Chiefs gave him.. maybe I just forget how bad he was
If I remember right he did well here his last season when EJ was OLB. I think we will go after him.

He played fairly well and considering the situation we are in (and the fact that for some reason we wont put Erin in there) I'm all for picking him up.

Napo was pretty good, just wasn't one of our top 3 after that season, Greenway needed a spot.

There's no way you can sit your 1st round pick in their 2nd year, Ej was playing decently and leber was solid.
His contract was up so he was the odd man out.
I'm all for giving him a 2 year contract, finish as MLB, and let him and Leber duke it out for the last OLB spot next year. (was that not what he played prior to coming here?)
Given the MLB problem at hand, he is probably the best solution.

Leber is as mediocre as mediocre gets.
He goes in there, does his job, doesn't make many mistakes, but doesn't blow many people away with his ability.
That is what should be expected, any less and it becomes an issue.
He is by no means irreplaceable.
Harris is a little faster, would be better in coverage, and better in persuing the ball carrier (he was one of the key players to us almost breaking the all-time rush defense record)
If he can keep playing on a consistant level, I think he could be better than Leber.
However, that also raises the question, why did the Chiefs cut him?
Its not like their defense is overflowing with talent.
I hope its just because he does not work well for what they're trying to do (not sure what scheme they run, i know its 4-3, but what variation?)
