In the N.F.L., It’s Time to Get Back to Work

In the N.F.L., It’s Time to Get Back to Work

After an off-season that closely resembled a soap opera — the Patriots’ spying scandal, the Steelers’ family squabble over ownership, and Brett Favre’s flip-flop over his future — N.F.L. training camps will be a relief...

Re: In the N.F.L., It’s Time to Get Back to Work

MINNESOTA VIKINGS Favre would be a nice bookend to the off-season acquisition of the Pro Bowl defensive end Jared Allen, but it is unlikely to happen. No matter. The Vikings won five of their last seven games last season and after an off-season spending spree, they look like playoff contenders. This team would be worth watching for running back Adrian Peterson alone, but in the wide open National Football Conference North, it may be the Vikings’ time, especially if Favre is out of the division.
The interesting stat about that, for anyone who still thinks AD is the reason we won 8 games last year, is that in two of those 5 wins, AD did not play at all. In the other 3, AD ran for 116 against the Lions, only 3 against the 49ers & 78 against the Bears.

In those same 3 games, C-Tay ran for 71, 101 & 31 respectively. In the two games AD missed, C-Tay ran for 164 & 77 yards.

C-Tay & T-Jack are a bigger part of our offense than a lot of people give them credit for.
